aka, 'Ulee' 'Ulee Bee' 'Miss Bee' 'Ulah Bulah' 'Uls'

Born on Tuesday 5th April in 1966, on a day that has been designated as the

'International Day of Conscience'

'A day to reflect on our actions and consider how we contribute to a kinder and more inclusive world'.

So, reflecting on my life and the past 60 years. I am very happy and feel very blessed to be able to make plans to mark this special occasion and include you.

Please join me in celebrating my 60th birthday party for an evening of elegance, glamour and party vibes.

Hello Everyone!

For those who don’t know me well, here’s a little snapshot of my 60 years — and I truly believe life begins at sixty… the best is yet to come!

I’m Ulah Lee Blackwood — hence all the little nicknames — and I’m embracing this chapter staying “sassy and classy"

I was born at home in Oldbury to Lloyd and Eileen Blackwood. Many of you know my mom sadly passed away last November from Vascular Dementia. I’m the middle child between my brother Robert and sister Marcia. If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s this: live, laugh and love today — tomorrow isn’t promised.

I went to school in Oldbury and later trained in nursery nursing while working at Boots in the old Bull Ring, earning £6.75 a day and saving for seven weeks to buy my first beloved pair of grey boots! That may well have been the start of my love for shopping — because confidence is your best accessory.

My career has taken me from nursery and family centers into Children’s Social Work, which I still proudly do today in Stafford. Every day may not be good, but there’s something good in every day.

I’ve been married and divorced, lived in West Bromwich, Great Barr and now Walsall. I’m blessed with two amazing children, Ebonie (35) and Theo (31), two gorgeous grandsons, Logan (5) and Marcel (18 months), and I’m excited to welcome my granddaughter,

Mia-Lyn, in May.

Life has had its ups and downs — physically, emotionally and spiritually — but what doesn’t break you strengthens you. At nearly 60, I feel stronger than ever. I expect nothing and appreciate everything. Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed — it just means it no longer controls you.

I’ll always see the glass more than half full, and I believe a day is worthwhile if you make someone smile, and my Diesel makes me smile.

Thank you all for coming to celebrate this milestone with me — having my family and friends together means everything.

Your presence truly is my greatest gift. But if you would like to give something, I’d love a contribution to a TUI E-voucher to ulahlee@hotmail.com for some well-earned “me time,” or donate to Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of my beautiful mom.
